Join us to discuss “flipping the focus” in the social investment world, from good financial returns, to the impact first.

Joseph Rowntree Foundation has commissioned Small Change and The Good Economy to help align its social investment activities more directly with its strategic outcomes. JRF’s vision is for a prosperous UK without poverty. Its strategic outcomes are:

  • More people want to solve poverty, understand it and take action;
  • More people find a route out of poverty through work;
  • More people find a route out of poverty through a better system of social security;
  • More people live in a decent, affordable home.

How do JRF prioritise investment opportunity; weighing up the opportunities for mass provision against focusing on high social need?

Can they capitalise on JRF’s leadership position on anti-poverty research and campaigning to convene other social investors around particular issues and opportunities?

Conversations for Change is a series of 5 discussions and challenges inspired by ideas put forth by delegates. Space is being reserved for both submitted sessions, as well as spur of the moment ideas.
