What can social investors do to help develop a pipeline of social investment ready social enterprises and community businesses? The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), with Access, will discuss the innovative ways organisations can work together to build the financial resilience and sustainability of social enterprises to prepare them for social investment. The discussion will introduce the concept of Match Trading, a new grant-funding model that incentivises growth through trading and supports with specialised learning programmes, and other programmes that prepare and raise awareness of the social investment offer. An SSE graduate will share their lived experience as an entrepreneur who has built their business to social investment readiness and taken the next step, successfully accessing investment. The session will challenge investors to consider what they are doing to build capacity in the crucial scale-up pre-social investment stages of a social enterprise.
